Wordly Wednesday: Learning Japanese. Introducing ... the Wa, Wo and N Katakana Characters.2/13/2019 Good morning! Ohayo! You've come such a long way in your studies of Japanese characters and sounds. Here are the last characters in our katakana chart: Remember that "wo" is sometimes pronounced as "o." And "n" can sometimes be pronounced as "m" if followed by a b or p sound. Also, please remember that there are more sound blends that we'll be going over in future posts. Here are some words using these sounds: ワイン wain = wine (waheen) ワイルド wairudo = wild (wah ee roo doh) ワゴン wagon = wagon ワルツ warutsu = waltz (wah roo sue) ワイパー waipa = winshield wipers (wah ee pah) ハンバーガー hambaga = hamburger (ham baa gaa) This is the last video in the Japanesepod101.com 10-Day Katakana Series. We'll be going over the extra Katakana sound blends in another post. I'll be featuring this video again with those posts since it has those sound blends and much more information as well. Here it is: Make sure to watch this video more than once. There is so much information provided in it that it may take more than one viewing to remember it all. Look how far you've come. If you've been following along, watching the Japanesepod101.com videos, studying and practicing, you now know all of these: And these: These: And these: This week's free practice writing sheet features wa, wo and n.
Well, that's it for this week. As always, gambatte kudasai (がんばって ください). Do your best and Good Luck. See you next week. Mata raishū!
