Ok, I used to read science mags and technical mags for fun. I used to be able to listen to computer podcasts and understand most of what the techies were talking about. However, it's a sign of aging (or extreme exhaustion) when you can't even figure out how to use a Twitter account. Today I registered for Twitter. (My handle? AvgJaneBlogger) [EDIT 1/1/2010: the new Twitter ID is: TGFCoffee] After all, everyone is on Twitter, right? I got through all the registration and I'm left with finding--what would I call it anyway? A Tweeter, Tweets, right?--to follow. (Someone out there find me a Twitter Dictionary! Ok, I'm joking. I could Google it myself. Sorry, I digress....) If you've never been on Twitter (and by now the world seems to be on Twitter) then let me tell you that there seems to be millions of people, companies, celebrities and assorted Tweeters to follow. How can I possibly decide? Ok, so my first no-brainer (or so it seemed at the time) was Starbucks. I mean, how could you go wrong with coffee, right? So I'm following Starbucks and CNN. Anyone have any other good suggestions of what to follow next???

I was planning to rant here about Washington Mutual's transition to Chase but I changed my mind. No, I didn't not change how I feel. I would just rather have anyone and everyone who reads this share their opinion. Ok, people, it's up to you. You decide: Halloween was interesting this year. There were more "older" trick or treaters. That seems to be the trend these days, though.
When I was a kid, if you were over 13 and still trick or treating you had to have your younger siblings or cousins in tow. And, you weren't the one getting the candy. But now-a-days, it's not out of fashion to be in your teens (or to be an adult even) in costume with a bag ready to get some good candy. Go figure. Even so, I'm happy to say that everyone was very polite and appreciative. Maybe that's due to the state of the economy. When there's not much to have we appreciate what we do have or get so much more. I know that I was very happy to give out candy this year because even though my finances are tight, it made me feel really good to be able to give something to someone. Even if it was only a few handfuls of candy. Happy belated Halloween! |
