and, one day, the earning ...
It's not quite the end of the year but lately I've been thinking about what one of my classmates said. He said, "I guess I'm to old to learn it." He was referring to Kanji, which isn't so easy to learn if you don't have a very good visual memory. My counter to that statement was and still is "if I thought that way I'd get nothing I really want to do done. "
Which brings me to my method of setting and achieving goals. The most important thing is to set reasonable goals. For example, if you hate exercise and wouldn't do it to save your life then setting a goal to workout everyday isn't a very reasonable goal. What will end up happening is that you'll fail and then get on yourself with guilt at that failure. Instead, set a more doable goal. Start with something small like simple stretches while you're on the computer or parking a little farther away than the front entrance of the store when you go shopping and walking a short distance. Those are only examples. But if you set goals that you have a chance at achieving then perhaps you can train yourself to gradually work up to the major goal you're aiming for. Load your goals with likely successes and you will have a better chance at feeling good about the changes you want to make in your life--and that you are succeeding at making in your life. Give yourself a chance and see what you can do.
