My gaming has brought me to an oldie but goodie game: Diablo II® by Blizzard Entertainment®. With my World of Warcraft® account coming to the end of the game time I purchased with the last of my gift cards, I needed another game to take its place and Diablo II® fit the bill. I've only been playing for a few days and so far Diablo II® has offered quests and hack and slash gameplay that is on par with the other games I've played. What it lacks in graphics it makes up for with a good storyline, free online solo and multiplayer gameplay and multiple difficulty levels. Also, the Diablo II® community has been friendly and helpful. Blizzard Entertainment: http://www.blizzard.com

Most people kill them, but I save bugs. I don't necessarily love all bugs. But, by the same token, I don't fancy myself to be g-d or seek to wield my godly shoe upon the shorter multi-legged of this world.
So when at home or work someone shouts or shrieks about some creepy crawly being in the room, I go grab a cup and index card (or other firm paper) and go bug catching. Most of the time, it isn't much effort and seconds later the bugs are outside where they belong and everyone is happy. Don't get me wrong, there are bugs (like roaches) which I absolutely abhor. But, again, I'm not g-d. I don't think winking out the existence of a bug is the right thing to do. So I don't do it. Some will argue that some bugs are dangerous and will harm or even kill you. My counter to that is that, I doubt that the bug's intention is to kill the scary, big human. Man is one of the few creatures who does have such intentions. However, I don't want to be counted among those who do. If in the course of my bug saving endeavors I feel that the bug can and will do immediate harm and there's nothing I can do to remove it safely, then I'll step back and allow others to kill it. Even so, I do it with regret because in my mind I think that I should have found a way to avoid the bug death sentence. Am I weird, or worse: stupid? Some might say so. But when you think about how little they are and how powerless to defend against the shoe or spray they can be, why not try to save them instead of winking out their very short life with crushing of a heel? Life is life after all. Even the life of a "lowly" bug. |
