by Lucinda HolzIt's dark and loud, but your thirst compells you. You sit at a small booth as a server approaches.
"Coffee or Tea," you're asked. Your momentary hesitation brings waiterly advice, "Your choice defines everything. I would suggest you not think too deeply but choose with your heart."
Strange advice, but without thinking further you follow it:
(I want to set a timer to count off in case someone takes too long to choose)
[[Coffee]]
[[Tea]]The server ambles off and returns rather quickly with a large steaming mug of the best coffee you've smelled in a long time. You thank him and work to wrap your hands around the mug. You blow against the surface sending steam circlets scattering.
The coffee black and your first sip, though a bit too hot, brings the strong liquid into your mouth, stimulating your senses and leaving you with a great feeling of gratitude.
The waiter returns in minutes with a small, hand-held cart of glass bottles which he sets before you. The bottles have a metallic pour spout and contain many different colored liquids.
"Here are your choice of additions. Again, every choice is important and will lead you where you need to be."
The statement seems silly and you wonder if you're supposed to laugh. But, before you can decide either way, your waiter is gone, off to serve another table.
You look at the bottles and their lables:
[[A light-brown, irridenscent liquid labeled: Yesterday.|Yesterday]]
[[An amber, pink-speckly liquid labeled: Today. |Today]]
[[A blue and white swirly liquid labeled: Tomorrow. |Tomorrow]]
Or, maybe plain black coffee is best:
[[Don't choose any bottle|AddNothing]]
The server ambles off and returns rather quickly with a large steaming mug of the best tea you've smelled in a long time. You thank him and work to wrap your hands around the mug. You blow against the surface sending steam circlets scattering. A time traveler, you flee a peril which will later become clear. You find yourself in a Pub which, in this timeline, only serves coffee or tea and comfort related items.
Every choice indeed shapes your movement here. Even the simplest can make a big impact.Double-click this passage to edit it.Double-click this passage to edit it.Double-click this passage to edit it.Well that's no fun. But, it is your choice. And, every choice is important so....
[[(continue)|BigCity]]You blink and find yourself sitting at a table in an outdoor cafe in the middle of a bustling city.
Your mug, which is on the table in front of you, is half-full and still hot.
